Sean... If you can't measure it then you can't mange it... Shaun that is right on the money... even now in my industry i have to drag our clients down that path.

Maybe some of us are a little scared of accountability

I particularly love Prediction #6.
All the predictions are just too great 4 Words. Let the word becomes....

"As a single footstep will not make a path on the earth, so a single thought will not make a pathway in the mind. To make a deep physical path, we walk again and again and again...To make a deep mental path, we must think over and over the kind of thoughts we wish to dominate our lives."

Henry David Thoreau

We need more men like yourself Sean, to help us making more than single footsteps!!!!

Good discussion guys.

Gaurav - I'll email you with some options. Yes, marketing and selling on the web is a speciality of mine so I normally complete that training/development.

Shane - You should always keep your eye on the prize but never lose sight of what you need to do (activity) to get you there!

Thanks again for your comments, I appreciate it

I agree Gaurav. We are target mad at where i work (we sell software). They dont care that its all about activity (quality activity that is)

I was told by an old sales manager at another role that I should take of the activity and focus on each step of the process and the targets take care of themselves. Not how much have I made this week. Averages remain pretty constant over the year but there are peaks and troughs. Sometimes, as Sean states it's just your averages catching up with you!

Great posting!

I've been hitting my head against the brick wall all year when making cold calls. Have never thought of prospecting on the web because I dont know how to. Could you offer a course on this or perhaps some one on one coaching? If so, please send me some details Sean.

I wish my company would move to activity based targets. They are solely focused on cash targets and dont care what you do as long as you hit the target which is a real short term viewpoint

Regards
